Alright cozy up friends! Is it chilly where you all live? I know it is here! When it’s cold and dreary outside, I like to drink warm beverages all day long. Bringing you some wholesome cozy drink inspo today! These beverages not only contribute to your hydration goal but also offer a variety of health benefits thanks to the spices, herbs, aromatics and cocoa powder that we use! Tasty AND nutritious?! Oh you KNOW I’m all about that!

*RECIPES*
DIY Chai tea mix (easily multiplied!)
24 green cardamom pods
2 tablespoons fennel seeds
1 teaspoon peppercorns
1 teaspoon whole cloves
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
1 teaspoon whole allspice
3 cinnamon sticks, broken into pieces
2-3 tablespoons crystallized ginger, chopped
1 cup loose leaf black tea
Directions:
Break up your cinnamon sticks into pieces. Chop the crystallized ginger. Use a sharp knife to coarsely chop/break open your spices. Alternatively, you could use a mortar and pestle. Toss together the tea and spices and store in airtight container.
To serve, steep 1 tablespoon tea mix in 8oz warmed milk or hot water for 5 minutes. Add a touch of sweetener if desired, serve hot!
GIFT IDEA:
Fill small 4-8oz jars with chai tea mix. Purchase tea steeping balls (linked above) and attach each one around the lid of the jar with a cute tag that says:
CHAI TEA:
Place 1 tablespoon chai tea in mesh ball and steep in warmed milk or hot water for 5 minutes. Remove ball, add a touch of honey or maple syrup if desired. Enjoy!
Hot Chocolate:
Serves 2
1 cup your favorite plant-based milk (almond, cashew, macadamia, oat, soy, hemp)
1 cup light coconut milk (the kind from the can!)
2 tablespoons unsweetened cacao powder
2 tablespoons maple syrup
½ teaspoon pure vanilla
1/2oz dark chocolate, broken into pieces
Directions:
Warm the milks in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the cocoa powder, vanilla, maple syrup. Add the broken chocolate and stir until melted. Bring to a simmer and then pour into mugs, serve with extra shaved chocolate and whipped cream if desired!
Golden Milk Latte:
Serves one
½ cup almond milk (or milk of choice!)
½ cup full fat coconut milk
½ teaspoon ground turmeric
1 teaspoon ground ginger
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon honey
Directions:
Whisk everything together over medium heat until very well combined and no clumps of spices remain. Heat until simmering and then serve!
