Photographing the Alabama Hills at Sunrise (Day 2) | 5DSR Desert Landscape Photography | 4K

After a stormy desert morning sunrise, my second morning in the Alabama Hills was clear, calm, and even colder. I hiked to the top of a rocky cliff overlook to get a view of the Sierras on a morning where I knew they would light up at sunrise.

After photographing the grand vista, I hiked around a bit more to find a few different desert scenes. Ranging from cacti to desert streams, these scenes were more along what I would have expected to see in such an extreme desert landscape. The ice cold temperatures though were not what I would have expected.

Following a morning of hiking, I had breakfast with my brother and other campers before deciding the hit the road home to San Diego. I hope you enjoy the conclusion of this trip to the high Sierras! I'm already looking forward to visiting again. Maybe another time when there is a bit more snow on the mountain peaks!
