adverse events associated with them?
Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors are drugs used to treat high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. These drugs
dilate the blood vessels and lower the blood pressure by inhibiting the actions of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), an enzyme
that helps regulate blood pressure.
Few examples of ACE inhibitors are Benazepril, Captopril, Enalapril, Fosinopril, Lisinopril, Ramipril (Altace) etc.
Common side effects:
A dry, irritating cough
Light-headedness and dizziness
Hyperkalemia (elevated potassium levels in the blood)
Angioedema (swelling under the skin)
Dysgeusia (an abnormal taste in the mouth)
Renal impairment
