Toko Tatung of HMLA-16 Yachuli Raises Concerns Over Private Schools, Calls APFRA 1978 Unnecessary
Toko Tatung, representing the HMLA-16 Yachuli Assembly Constituency, has expressed serious concerns over the functioning and regulatory oversight of private schools in Arunachal Pradesh. He stressed the need for comprehensive inspections to ensure that these institutions maintain proper infrastructure, sufficient campus space, and essential safety and cognitive support measures for students. Tatung further questioned whether the Education Minister is adequately monitoring the management and operational standards of private educational institutions across the state.
On the issue of the Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act (APFRA) 1978, Tatung stated that strict enforcement of the Act is unnecessary. He argued that such enforcement could create divisions among the people of Arunachal Pradesh, potentially disturbing the social harmony that the state has long upheld.
