POWER OF THE TONGUE || PR ALLAN BUYEGO

The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, But the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness.” Proverbs 15:2 NKJV

The tongue, small as it might be, is a powerful part of the body. It ought to be used wisely.

We need to be careful about what we speak. Whatever we keep on saying, we become! If we keep on speaking the will of God over our lives, we become exactly that.

In all speaking, speak life! Speak good things over yourself and the people around you. If the tongue is not tamed, the enemy can use it as a tool to speak negatively.

Here are some of the powers embedded in the tongue;

1. Power to Direct.
“Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires.” James 3:4 NKJV

The tongue is akin to the rudder on a ship. It directs the course of our life. It will give us purpose. That’s why it’s important to speak right/confess positively.

“Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.” Proverbs 16:24 NKJV

2. Complaining and gambling.

“So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way.” Romans 14:12-13 NKJV

The tongue has power to destroy. It can be used as a stumbling block to the progress of another.

Surprisingly, it can also be used to blame God. Blaming God for not achieving certain heights.

We ought to change approach whilst communicating with God, people and ourselves.
