As part of the PD Health @ Home program, our free Wellness Wednesday series focuses each week on a topic that highlights PD awareness, research or treatments.
Parkinson’s disease (PD) research participation can take many forms outside of clinical trials or drug discovery. But did you know that fitness trackers, popular wrist-worn devices, can also play a big role in Parkinson’s research? The Parkinson’s Foundation invites people with PD, loved ones, families, and healthcare providers to join us for a special presentation by Sarah Ingersoll, RN, MBA, and Kris Mendenhall, Parkinson’s Foundation Research Advocate, on the topic of wearable fitness trackers in PD research. Learn about Ms. Ingersoll’s research into how fitness trackers help refine treatment approaches for people with PD and the experiences of individuals with PD who have participated in her studies.
