Smash Ultimate - How to Shield Break with Kirby

A guide to breaking shields with Kirby in v 5.0.0 of Smash Ultimate. Do you find yourself upset that you cant break shields with Kirby like you could in smash 4? This video will show you the best setups to step up your shield break game with Kirby.

The main setup vs a full shield will be full hop Bair to Ftilt to Fsmash. If you shorthop you'll have to charge Fsmash a bit longer. Most players won't shield the full duration, which Kirby is able to cover. Dsmash can do the job too, as well as cover rolls in if they go for it.

You can also split the shield break setup into two interactions. First, hitting them with a Bair to Ftilt, and then going for the second sequence of attacks within a short time span.

My favorite setup is charged hammer on platforms, as they have no choice but to get their shield broken if they choose to shield it. And on most platforms, you'll be safe if they do avoid it. At worst they'll get shield poked by the hammer.
