Repeat until they get relaxed
Repeat this relaxation process where the students do the grip formation drill again and form the perfect grip and while extending out they have a good chest squeeze. Then throw the big switch so they drop down and are as relaxed as possible.
Now direct students to take the SIRT and move it back to the right hip as if there's a holster there even if they don't have one at this time. Tell them to keep their joints aligned as naturally as possible; don't shrug shoulders or bend the wrist excessively to maintain a grip. Rather keep the wrist rather neutral with the forearm of their support arm. As it goes back back back towards the holster area, have the students note what is the last portion of their support hand to engage the pistol? The index finger will be the last natural part of the support hand to engage the inner portion of the trigger guard.
Therefore it stands to reason that when we reverse this movement process, the first portion of the support hand to engage the pistol will be the upper portion of the index finger (Describe location we just discovered) on the pistol when establishing the grip.
In summary we are just acquiring the perfect grip from a slow methodical pace as we've done above and now we're finding out a quick way to establish the grip from the draw.
