The topics in this video are cellular metabolism and enzyme function. Alongside energy production, we’ll look at the mechanisms that generate metabolic heat, helping animals regulate body temperature, as well as how metabolic pathways occur in both linear and cyclic pathways. We'll also examine how enzymes are regulated through competitive and non-competitive inhibition, feedback loops, and mechanism-based inhibition. By understanding these processes, we gain insight into both basic biological functions and how drugs or toxins can impact enzyme activity in living organisms.
