Making soap at home has never been easier. Simple vegan recipe that you can add to or change to reflect your own tastes or needs.

Recipe:
48 ounce can of vegetable shortening
18 ounces of coconut oil
21 ounces of olive oil
3 ounces of Castor oil
4T Turmeric

12.5 ounces of lye
24 ounces distilled water

1. Add lye to room temperature distilled water and stir until dissolved. Make sure your eyes, hands, arms and body are properly protected.
2. Pour hot lye water over hard oils and stir until melted.
3. Add soft oils together and combine with melting hard oils until completely incorporated.
4. Add Turmeric or other spices along with any desired fragrance and incorporate.
5. Pour raw soap batter into lined container or silicone mold.
6. Cover and leave in an out of the way place for at least 24 hours.
7. Cut soap and let cure until bars are hard and dry.
8. Store in a cool dark place until ready to use.
