Monkey King still didnt get his legendary weapon and still lacks own good stack skill to use (the ones he has scale with Shattered and Prowess) . He has access to Shrapnel Bomb which is decent, however I didnt want to make another build with it so instead I went with diffrent apporoach. We have access to Weakness and DoTs were recently buffed so I decided to try out Poison Monkey King which ended up being pretty good. We use Bleed t Poison synergy as our main damage source, using Poison on Hit/Crit as an addition.
Skills:
Gunpowder Strike - Our main source of Weakness to increase Poison damage. Also has decent hit rate with the extra explosion and since it applies bleed by default, its good to apply poison from synergy. First Bomb skill
Surprise Gift - Extra source of Weakness (we dont really need second) but also good source of bleed thanks to splitting into multiple bombs (which then changes to poison thorugh synergy). Second Bomb skill
If you do not have artifact power unlocked, switch this skill to Explosive Trap for source of Disoriented
Bomb Barrage - Good source of Bleed, thanks to shooting 10 bombs at once. Third Bomb skill for Group Passives and Chain Skills
Armor Shatter - Source of Shattered to reduce armor of enemies to give us big boost to damage. Also gives us some extra damage through Prowess. First Slam skill
Whirling Defense - Great at applying a lot of poison thanks to very fast attack rate. Also provides us extra damage with Prowess and extra tankiness with Resilience. Second Slam skill for Group Passives and Chain Skills
Power Conductor - Source of Dazed to increase our critical chance. Also great at applying a lot of poison, especially if we find +Quanity passives for it.
Skill Passives: Since this build mostly gets damage from passives, not skills, you can treat all of skills as "support" ones. FOcus on their Multicast and Cast Frequency, however increasing damage/crit chance of them will also work on poison applied by them, so for fast hitting skills its also good option
Stats passives:
Offense: First priority is Cast Frequency, then Multicast, Crit Damage, AoE, Crit Chance and Damage at the end
Defense - Prioritize HP untill you reach 500 to unlock full boost from rune. After that take Armor/Block/HP whenever there is nothing better available
Take Green/Blue tier of Movement Speed whenever it appears untill you feel fast enough to easily dodge stuff
Other passives:
Grab all Skill Chains whenever they appear, except ones for Electric Skills (chains dont really work on summons)
Take Slow, Disarray and Bleed on Cirt once, ignore them after
For Ascension passives blue tier one is decent, ignore the rest
Synergies:
Bleed to Poison is main synergy that is left not banished
Banish list:
Banish Bleed on Hit both White and Green tier once (they count separately for synergy)
Banish Slow on Hit after taking both White and Green tier once
Banish Disarray on Hit after taking both White and Green tier once
Banish Leviathan
Prioritize extra EXP early on, banish after raching 200% extra
Banish Bleed Damage
Banish Poison to Doom synergy
Banish Slow to Disarray synergy after taking it once
Banish Disarray to Bleed synergy after taking it once
Banish Prowess to Resilience synergy. If you want to make more tanky version of this build (with less DMG), you can take this synergy few times, untill you reliably reach 800 stacks of Resilience and then banish it.
List of Curses:
So why 40 Curse Intensity instead 64? Because going past that gives no extra reward, just extra challenge. So to maximize reward, pick Scorching Valley map and those curses:
Level I: Lifeless Void, Reckless Goblins, Captains of the Void, Revenge of the Void
Level II: Reckless Goblins, Clone Army, Unholy Reinforcements
Level III: Clone Army, Unholy Reinforcements, House of Lords, Council of Lords
Level IV: Clone Army, House of Lords, Council of Lords
Level V: Clone Army, Unholy Reinforcements, House of Lords, Council of Lords
Level VI: Lifeless Void, Unholy Reinforcement, Revenge of the Void, Void Presence
Level VII: Clone Army, Unholy Reinforcements, Ethereal Lords
Runes:
Minor - Pick two of the following, depending what you want to farm (Material Harvest - materials, Efficient Extraction - Void Essences (boss parts), Ardous Training - Prestige). For 3rd rune pick Endless Refill
Major - Synergetic, Elemental Flow, Savage Pact, Frozen Blood
Synergetic is most important rune for this build, as it makes synergies stronger and also more common to find. It will work without it, but it will probably not feel that good. Elemental Flow is biggest damage boost to DoTs. Savage Pact is biggest damage boost left from other runes. Frozen Blood is used to add Slow passives which can unlock source of Disarray for us, which gives us big boost to damage (arguably biggest damage boost any rune gives, but its not "free"). I dont recommend running this build w/o access to Synergetic and Frozen Blood runes.
