US delegation to Denmark says "no pressing security threats” to Greenland despite Trump’s threats

Protests erupted in Greenland – and Denmark – last week amid U.S. President Donald Trump’s threats to seize the autonomous Danish territory for the supposed benefit of American “national security.”
Despite Trump’s threats, a Democratic senator who leads an 11-member U.S. delegation to Copenhagen has suggested Greenland is safe.
“There are no pressing security threats to Greenland, but we share real concern about Arctic security going forward,” Democratic Sen. Chris Coons said in Copenhagen on Saturday.
As concerns for Greenland’s defence rise, European nations have deployed military personnel to its capital, Nuuk, as a safeguard.
