When a man in your life, whether it is your son, brother, friend, or just someone you know is in an abusive relationship or marriage to a toxic woman who is manipulating him in every way, what can you possibly do to help him see through this veil?
Lately, I've had more and more mothers of sons trapped in these narcissistic relationships reach out to me for help, so here is a video that should help you navigate this approach in the most gentle way because last thing you want is to do something that will push him to shut down more and stay with her for a longer time. Remember, people in these narcissistic relationships are already facing extreme shame, isolation, and lack of self worth. They don't need to be reminded, they need for someone to hold emotional space for them and be a clean mirror to see their situation for what it actually is.
Again, whether it is your son, brother, or close male friend who is in a relationship with a narcissistic, controlling, or emotionally abusive woman, you see the signs — manipulation, gaslighting, isolation — but don’t know how to help without pushing him further away.
