A part of our seam at the keel became rusty so we had to remove the old sealing material and replace it with a new proper sealing.
This video shows you the major steps:
1.) Remove old sealing
2.) Sand the seam and surroundings
3.) Tape the area
4.) Apply new sealing and flatten it
You can do it by your own. Absolutely no problem. But bear in mind that the old sealing glues like hell. So you just get it out peace-by-peace. That is normal. So be patient.
Video is without paid sponsorship or similar. We paid for everything by ourselves. This is just how we did it and it worked out successfully.
Used sealing:
1-K Power Bond from company Wilhelm Goldschmidt GmbH & Co. KG (comparable with Pantera, Tex7, Viton, Wekem but cheaper since industrial material)
Tools we worked with:
Hammer
Mortise chisel
Sanding machine Black & Decker KA900E
Sanojtape (25mm x 50m) blue
Spatula
Latex gloves
Tissues
