Scam artists tend to be equal opportunity grifters. They don’t really care if you’re a man, woman or martian. Grifters gonna grift. But certain products and promises are naturally targeted toward men.

These typically exploit an inherent male urge to look, act or feel classically masculine. After all, most men, regardless of creed, have wondered what it’s like to be taller, stronger, have a wider jaw, deeper voice or better hairline.

Even if you know this stuff doesn’t matter so much in our modern world, it’s still desirable on some primal level. Now, marketers know this. And, in the same way they exploit many women’s desire for a smaller waist or blemish free skin, they hit men right where it hurts:

In the balls. Just kidding. They hit us in that hard wired, status-seeking node of our prefrontal cortex. They sling their libido pills, testosterone boosters and six pack abs programs, year after year, decade after decade.

And like the hairless apes we are, we fall for it again and again, blowing our hard-earned money on these worthless products. Let’s get specific. Here are 8 scammy products that men should avoid at all cost.

🧍🏻MY SIZES
I'm 5'6" with shoes on and about 125 lbs after dinner. I have a 35" chest; I usually wear XS tops and 28x28 pants (or 28x30 cuffed).

My best suit jacket size is 34 Short, but even 34S needs alterations (mostly shortening of the sleeves and jacket), so my best-fitting suits are custom.
