Enneagram 5: Grabbed by the heart (Interview with Dr. Khaled El Sherbini)

Listen in as Evolving Enneagram Founder Nhien Vuong interviews fellow Enneagram professional Dr. Khaled ElSherbini (Type 5) (EGYPT) about his personal, spiritual journey with the Enneagram. Dr. Khaled is the founder and chairman of “Enneagram Egypt,” the first and largest IEA accredited Enneagram school in North Africa and the Middle East. He is also the founder of “BeCon, the Consciousness Academy,” a dedicated academy focusing on human development and spiritual transformation.

In this interview, Dr. Khaled shares about his journey as a “well qualified” Five with multiple academic and professional credentials with a mere “hobby” around this quest for metaphysics to experiencing a split that caused him to take a “jump” of faith. Listen in as he shares his powerful journey to the “Holy Land” where he felt that he was undergoing a time of “cleaning” from his old life and self. Dr. Khaled, who identifies as a Muslim, opens up about his studies of the Enneagram, Reiki, integral theory, and more. He describes his mystical journey –one that which took him literally “up the mountain” (the holy Mount Sinai) and discusses his shift from emphasizing intellectual knowing as knowing the highest order to opening the gate to the energy (and messiness) of his heart making way for personal revelation, how the Enneagram connecting the spiritual to the material has helped to map his journey, and how his journey of honoring the intelligence of his heart and gut has begun to allow for a deeper "gnosis" or knowing--and embodied and more compassionate wisdom.
