Bungang Sakit was a legendary woman of extraordinary beauty. In the folklore, she was a child found under a pamintugon tree and adopted by a childless couple, Kadiko and Guilanda.

Origins of "Basey": The town name "Basey" is said to be derived from her. Because of her beauty, people referred to her as "Mabaysay" (meaning beautiful), which eventually evolved into the name Basey.

She is often celebrated as the legendary mother of the town, symbolizing the grace and beauty of the people of Basey.

Located in Brgy. Magallanes, this site includes landmarks such as the Bungang Sakit Well, a welcome arc, and a performance stage.
