President Duma Boko today presided over the swearing-in of two key justice officials at the Temple of Justice, marking an important advancement for Botswana’s legal system. Mr. Dick Bayford was officially appointed Attorney General under Section 51(8) of the Constitution. With over a decade of experience in complex legal work, including negotiating and drafting high-level agreements for the State, President Boko praised his integrity, professionalism, and commitment to public service.
The President also officiated the appointment of Ms. Mmako Abram as a Judge of the High Court under Section 98. Her 29-year career spans significant contributions to safeguarding Botswana’s legal and international interests, rising steadily through the ranks of the justice system.
Both appointments fall under the Ministry of Justice and Correctional Services. Their leadership is expected to strengthen the rule of law, reinforce accountability, and enhance the delivery of justice across the nation.
