This is a few days after Shutdown Phase 2 has been completed to facilitate connections from the East-West Line (EWL) to the new East-Coast Integrated Depot (ECID) and the new Tanah Merah Platform A.
From 8th December 2025 onwards, the new platform at EW4 Tanah Merah opened its doors to the public which serves the Eastbound Trains towards EW1 Pasir Ris and overtakes the former Platform A (now named as Platforms B and C), with the trains also travelling on the new viaduct tracks when it arrives and departs EW4 Tanah Merah station.
As you can see, commuters would need to alight at Platform A and head down via the concourse level to walk towards Platforms D and E for train services to Expo and Changi Airport stations, in which there are new announcements to inform commuters (2:46). The current Platforms B and C will serve as a extra platform for the time-being, while it undergoes works to be converted to the Thomson-East Coast Line as part of the CAL2TEL.
And from now on, all trains will be dispatched from ECID as seen from 5:10, and the Westbound train utilizing the new Westbound Viaduct Tracks at 5:20. As a result, EWL also saw some schedule changes too.
Slight Echoey Motor can be heard on carriage 2617 door A1/B1 area.
