Paddle Pop Exercise for Surfboard Tail Control
Setup & Key Points
Position knees about a foot apart
Focus on full arm extension while letting the lower body do the majority of the work
Keep shoulders back and maintain the ability to look left and right (essential for wave entry)
Incorporate play into your practice - make it enjoyable, not just mechanical
Movement Variations
Hip Mobility Work: Experiment with leaning left and right
Forward/Backward Movement: Move your hips back and forward to explore range of motion
Rotational Awareness: Practice looking left and right while maintaining position
Important Notes
Pay attention to areas of stiffness or discomfort
Never push into pain - work within comfortable ranges
Use these exercises as body awareness tools to identify mobility limitations
