The Via Rail Ocean Route - Part 1 | Montréal to Halifax | Scape Fare | 24 Hours | Canada

This is the 7th episode of my solo budget travel series in Canada and captures my first train journey in Canada between Montreal and Halifax. The train journey of Via Rail was comfortable and memorable. Although I had taken the cheapest ticket option which the escape fare but the experience was enriching. The total travel time was approx 24 hours. Watch the full video for details and enjoy the trip with me. This is the part 1 of the train journey.

This series captures the complete journey between Toronto to Halifax via Montreal and depicts the beautiful scenic locations in the entire journey. The Toronto to Montreal journey was done using the Megabus. Within Montreal, I had utilized the local transit pass and got the opportunity to travel to important scenic locations within Montreal and tried some local delicacies. The more interesting journey is between Montreal and Halifax which was undertaken using Via Rail’s scenic Ocean route which takes almost 24 hours to reach the destination. Once I had reached Halifax, I got the opportunity to explore the iconic Peggy’s Cove, the shipping yard of Halifax, Halifax Harbour front, Halifax to Dartmouth Ferry, Minas Basin of Bay of Fundy, the fresh lobsters of Bay of Fundy and many more interesting things on the go. In this trip I also had the opportunity to take the ferry from Nova Scotia to Prince Edward Island (PEI) and explore the key places of the island including East point light house, Charlottetown downtown, and the iconic Confederation Bridge.
