This story follows the wealthy but miserly businessman, Ebenezer Scrooge, who despises Christmas and treats those around him with cruelty and contempt. On Christmas Eve, he is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Marley, who warns him of an eternal, lonely fate unless he changes his ways. Scrooge is then visited by three spirits—the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future—who show him scenes from his life that stir feelings of regret and realization in him. Through these encounters, Scrooge witnesses the consequences of his actions and the desolation that awaits him if he continues down his current path. Struck by this, Scrooge decides to amend his ways by showing generosity and kindness. He becomes involved in the lives of those around him, sharing his wealth and warmth, ultimately transforming into a compassionate and beloved figure, especially in the life of Tiny Tim and his family.
