Part of the 190 bus order for 1500-1689, TTC 1559 is an April 2008 built Orion VII NG HEV. Rebuilt and repainted in January 2018, 1559 had traded its lead acid batteries for lithium-ion batteries back in 2010. 1559 is powered by a Cummins ISB engine and BAE Systems Hybridrive. Enjoy the ride on route 200 Toronto Zoo from Rouge Hill GO Station to Toronto Zoo. If you asked anyone in 2008 or 2009 when these buses entered service, no one would have said that these buses would still be in service 17 years later, a testament to the TTC's robust maintenance, rebuilding and reconditioning programs. Despite their age, they are more reliable today than they were when delivered. Recorded in August 2025 in 4K on a Sony A7riv.
