Pork Kare- kare is a traditional Filipino stew (2023) that features tender chunks of pork cooked in a rich and flavourful peanut sauce, alongside a variety of vegetables such as eggplant, green beans, and Bok choy. It is typically served with steamed rice and sometimes accompanied by a side of bagoong (shrimp paste). The dish is often cooked slowly over low heat to allow the flavours of the sauce and the meat to meld together, resulting in a hearty and comforting meal that is popular across the Philippines.
Mapapa rami kang rice recipe
Ingredients:
800g of Pork shoulder
1 egg plant
Handfuls of okra
10 pcs of long string beans
2 bokchoi/ pak choy
1 onion
4-5 pcs garlic cloves
3tblsp peanut butter
1 pack mama sita's kare-kare mix
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp achuete powder
800mls water (you can add more if you want soupy)
salt and pepper
2 tbsp. olive oil/ oil
Patis to tase
Bagoong or shrimp paste for garnish
