Yugoslavia, sebuah negeri yang lahir dari darah dan perpecahan, berjuang untuk menyatukan berbagai etnis, agama, dan budaya di tengah konflik yang tak kunjung usai. Di tengah wilayah Balkan yang penuh dengan sejarah perang, penindasan, dan pemberontakan, negara ini dibentuk sebagai harapan persatuan, namun akhirnya terpecah dalam api perang yang membara.

Dalam episode pertama dari serial dokumenter sejarah Yugoslavia ini, kita akan menyelami perjalanan panjang wilayah ini, mulai dari pengaruh Kekaisaran Ottoman yang menguasai Balkan, hingga bagaimana pertempuran Kosovo pada tahun 1389 menjadi titik balik yang mengubah sejarah wilayah ini selamanya. Selain itu, kita juga akan melihat bagaimana nasionalisme mulai tumbuh di Balkan, memicu perlawanan terhadap Ottoman, hingga akhirnya lahirnya Yugoslavia setelah Perang Dunia I.

Episode ini juga akan mengungkap bagaimana Tito, setelah kemerdekaan, berperan dalam membangun Yugoslavia sebagai negara komunis yang berdiri kokoh pada 1945. Namun, apakah persatuan ini bisa bertahan? Atau perpecahan yang lebih besar akan muncul seiring berjalannya waktu?
