"Bento" is getting very popular in the world like Sushi now days, comes in many shapes and forms. This traditional square box called Shokado Bento is very popular in Japan. This simple (?!) to make

*Cole slaw: • Simply Delicious Coleslaw (with Dill) ...

*Edamame Gohan (Edamame Rice) About 100g cooked Japanese rice, 20g cooked Edamame (used pre-cooked frozen package), pinch of salt
*Baby Broccoli Boiled lightly (3-4 min.) Put in ice water right after boiling, this will keep the nice green color.
*Asparagus Boiled lightly (1-2 min.) same with Baby Broccoli ... ice water shock.
*For garnish Lettuce leaf, beet sprout and fresh oregano sprig (you can use anything of your choice.) Origami paper ... a paper use for plating tempura (or plain white paper towel might do the job) Or you can use Parchment paper (white).
*Without the Box.... you can arrange on a square large plate, or 4 individual small plates on the tray or whatever....
*Without the food ring .... you can use empty tuna can (washed clean, of course) cutting out both ends. Or right size whatever .... !?

*菜の花 3-4分茹でて、さっと氷水につける。(緑色をきれいに保つため)飾る時は水気をふいてから。
*アスパラガス 2-3分茹でて、菜の花と同様に。
⋆その他の飾り レタスの葉、スプラウト 等々。 折り紙は、てんぷらの敷紙です。
*フードリングが無い場合は、ツナの空き缶を利用しても。(もちろん、よく洗ってから)
