Are you looking to build your own portable shooting bench ? here is the one I built. It is constructed out of 3/4" sanded oak plywood. It started out as a 4x4 sheet that i cut in half and and then screwed the 2 halves together. The spacing of the screws are 8"inches apart. On the back end i measured from back left corner over 14" from the 14" mark I measured up 19".. Then from the right front corner I measured back 25.5 ".. Then draw a line from the 19" mark and the 24.5 " mark. Take your jig saw and cut out that section. This cut out will be for making this bench setup for a left handed shooter as myself. Next comes the staining. Take your time here and allow 24 hours for drying time. After that you want to mount your floor flanges. Two in front and 1 in back. Take your washers and put under the flange in two places as seen in the video. I used 3 washers that gave me a tilt of the legs 6.5 degrees. This will spread out the front legs for more stability. If you want to go wider with the front legs just add more washers. Now the railing on the top of the bench is 5/8ths" pine square dowling. I pre-drilled the doweling so when I screwed the railing to the bench the railing would not crack. I used a number 8 wood screw 1" long and that worked perfect. That's about it. Further info is in the video as far as how things turned out and how I liked the way the shooting bench turned out. So I hope this may help you if you want to build your own portable shooting bench.
