Watch this interesting SHORT-LENGTH (approx. 4 min., 50 sec.) video showing 2 different MARC commuter trains arriving and departing from the West Baltimore MARC train station in Baltimore, Maryland on a bright, sunny autumn day close to sunset. (1)

The first MARC train is heading north, has locomotive no. 33, and it has 5 passenger railcars. The second train is traveling south in reverse, so it has 5 passenger railcars leading the train and, it has locomotive no. 28 at the rear of the train.

The MARC commuter train is powered by a diesel locomotive. (2)

The second railcar of both of these MARC commuter trains is a dedicated bicycle car, and it says, "THE BIKE CAR," with big letters on the car. The other railcars of the MARC trains are bi-level Kawasaki cars. (2)

There are three Amtrak lines that run through West Baltimore MARC train station including Acela and the Northeast Regional, both of which serve the Northeast Corridor, and the Vermonter, with service between Washington, DC and northern Vermont. The Northeast Corridor runs Amtrak trains between Washington, DC and Boston. (3) (5)

The Maryland Area Rail Commuter (MARC) is a commuter rail service that serves the Washington and Baltimore region. (4) The West Baltimore MARC Train Station lies on the Penn Line of MARC, which has three different lines. The Penn Line is the fastest commuter rail line in the US, is the busiest line of the three MARC lines, is the only electrified line, and is the only one that operates on the weekends. (2)

The Baltimore and Washington, DC section of the Northeast Corridor is one of the busiest rail lines in the United States with frequent MARC and Amtrak train service. (2)
