Cypress's first lift on Mt. Strachan was the Sunrise chair, a Murray-Latta double chair, installed in 1975. Capacity was increased on the chair in 1997 after Sky chair was installed, which brought demand to the upper mountain. Sunrise was replaced with a Poma quad. Only ten years later however, since Eagle had gone detachable, and since Sunrise was a longer lift than Eagle, Cypress invested in their second detachable chair, Lions Express, named after the pair of mountains visible from the top of Sky chair. The old quad was moved to a new expansion called Raven Ridge.
Lions Express is a Doppelmayr CTEC high-speed quad. It uses UNI-GS terminals, Garaventa chairs, and DT-104 grips. The lift tends to be the most popular lift on the mountain, especially when this was recorded, since all but one lift in operation (Eagle Express) were on Mt. Strachan.
