Going on a wildflower hunt towards Camel Soak and Lake Monger. We see fields of wildflowers and birds. Can we find a wreath flower? They are specialized flowers that grow in a ring/wreath shape that have a limited flowering season.
Along the way we see WILD BUDGEES AND WILD COCKATIELS! I mean c'mon!!!!!!
Fields of everlastings, which also don't last forever, misleading names. :) haha
Camel soak has a surprise sighting of tadpoles, which confirms my previous suspicion of seeing a tadpole in the stream in Wannamal campground. Camel Soak has a pool that was used for watering livestock while building the Rabbit Proof fence.
We see Lake Monger from a distance and visit Orchid Ridge to see if we can spot our Wreath Flowers.
Acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travelled, and pay my respects to their Elders past and present. I extend that respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples here today -the Wajuk/Balardung/Kalaamaya.
'Australia's First Peoples have been living on the Australian continent for millenia. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australia is made up of many different and distinct groups, each with their own culture, customs, language and laws. They are the world’s oldest surviving culture; cultures that continue to be expressed in dynamic and contemporary ways.' (https://aiatsis.gov.au/explore/map-in...)
