Here's how it works... Each month in 2025, we'll release a clue (the next section of the pattern) along with yarn color recommendations and a video. Each month, you'll receive a portion of the pattern to work on that month, and you won't know until the final clue what the entire project looks like. That's where the "mystery" comes in! Follow along for the entire year, and at the end of 2025, you'll have crocheted the gorgeous Connote rectangular shawl.

In today's video, I'll tell you all about this month's recommended yarn colors and talk a bit about this month's theme. I'll also show you how to work the Long Double Crochet stitch, which you'll need to know for this month's clue.

To crochet Connote, you will need 12 different colored skeins of our dreamy soft CashSilk Sock yarn or an equivalent amount of yarn/yardage in another fingering-weight yarn. For Clue 8 and the Radiant Fairytale palette, we used Gerbera CashSilk Sock yarn.

We’re also putting together an alternative set of CashSilk Sock colors that could be used for the 2025 MCAL. The clue colors in this Tranquil Dreams palette are: A) Syrup, B) Oblivion, C) Inkling, D) Hobbit House, E) Vermont, F) Paradox, G) Burnt Sienna, and H) Quintessence CashSilk Sock. You can also create your own color combination. We recommend that you choose colors with a good amount of contrast among them, and crochet Connote with at least two different colors.
