I am from Scotland and my husband, Thomas comes from Germany. For us, it was a clear decision that we would bring up our 20 month old son, Ben, with both languages and decided on the OPOL (one parent, one language) method. In this video we chat about our language backgrounds, what decisions we made early on and how successful we have been so far.
This video is the start of a mini series on my channel which will discuss how we support language development and some of the strategies, games and activities we use at home.
