Britain's second widest high street runs through the town, with a church each on east edge and west edge. Beautiful 17th-century buildings line the streets, and despite being a small town, there are plenty of independent shops and cafes. Marlborough College, a prestigious school with tradition, accomodates students including those from noble or wealthy families. Catherine, Princess of Wales is among the alumni. The Mound located in the college grounds is said to be the burial place of the wizard Merlin, who supported King Arthur. Marlborough is 15 minutes away by car from Avebury, which is a village in a giant stone circle, and is 30 minutes by car to Uffington White Horse which is said to be the oldest hill figure in Britain. So plenty of attractions that go back to prehistoric times.

英国で2番目に広いハイストリートが町に走り、西端、東端の両方に一つずつ教会があります。17世紀の美しい建物が連なり、小さな町ながら個人経営のショップやカフェが充実しています。伝統ある名門校マールボロ・カレッジはキャサリン妃の母校でもあり、名家や資産家の子供達も多く見られます。校内に小古墳と思われる小山があり、アーサー王に支えたマーリンのお墓だとも言われます。巨大環状列石の中に村があるエイブベリーから車で15分、英国最古の地上絵、白馬で知られるアフィントンへは車で30分、と先史時代に遡る見どころも豊富です。
