Shiroi Yuujo - The White Courtesan
I made a new cocktail, a sweet and umami libation designed around Sake and Meyer Lemons. The umami comes from the addition of White Miso Paste, a unique ingredient that elevates a cocktail in ways you wouldn't expect, and the sweetness comes from a Meyer Lemon Essential Syrup, a unique syrup that incorporates the peels and juice from Meyer Lemons.
This syrup is the latest in my Interesting Concoctions playlist, and I'll link it here once it has finished uploading.
I created this cocktail for a recent Reddit Cocktail Contest, and the garnish is integral to this, a sweet and bitter candied orange peel garnish that creates a new sensation when eaten along with this drink.
I've tested out four different versions, two with Miso Paste added straight in, and two with an Orange Juice and Miso Paste mixture. All are delicious, of course, but I had my preference.
