Face Track - Cradle Mountain

To celebrate the end of Winter 2019, a day hike up at Cradle Mountain was in order.

This is now becoming tradition for us, since we moved to Tasmania each year.

And each year, in the last week of Winter, the weather seems clear. The rain stops, the sun comes out for a perfect hiking day.

This hike we attempted to cross the Face Track, underneath the towering cliffs of Cradle. Still plenty of snow and ice around, so I wasn't able to cross all the way across - getting stopped right near the end by a huge bank of steep snow.

On our 2017 Overland Track attempt, after incurring an injury, we were rescued by the Tasmanian Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.

So all monies earned by the viewing of these videos will be donated to the Tasmanian Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
