Some of these radios really test you when you try to remove them from the chassis. This procedure can sometimes be the most complicated part of a repair or restoration process. Strange, but true.
This one, however, was the opposite. The availability of clear instructions in the service manual certainly helped.
Getting the boards out for inspection and/or repair is another matter. However, no radio ever got repaired by simply being looked at, so if it must be done, then it shall be done.
And ... what about the obvious fault? Well, that too was solved. See for yourself.
