When you're serious about developing your skills as a musician, the sheer number of different things that you need to work on can seem overwhelming. This is why making sure you're practising efficiently is so important. It lets you cover more of those topics in the limited time you have available.

And, what's more, efficient practice allows you to squeeze each individual topic into a shorter window. That's vital for making sure your practice is effective as well. It's simply not possible to keep your concentration levels at their maximum for ever - so when you're able to be efficient and make practice sessions shorter then this will increase your EFFECTIVENESS as well.

This video gives my top suggestions for practical actions you can take that will make your practice sessions much more efficient.

1. Have topics planned in advance
2. REALLY plan them out in detail
3. Have everything you need easily to hand
4. Find exercises that tick more than one box at once
5. Set timers and make them just too short
