What is Christmas Like in Philippines? 🇵🇭

It’s nearly Christmas, and we’re feeling extra festive here in the Philippines! To get into the holiday spirit, we headed over to the Marikina Riverbanks ChristmasSaya and Night Market—and wow, we were not disappointed! The atmosphere was filled with loud music, families rushing about, funfair games, rides, street food, and a general sense of joy and festivity. We absolutely loved it!

We kicked off the evening by trying our luck at the peso throwing game, where you throw a peso onto a board, and if it lands in the right spot, you win a prize. Jason got super lucky and won a cute soft toy! It was definitely our favourite game, and we were surprised at how affordable it was too—such a fun way to start the night!

After working up an appetite, we grabbed a delicious chicken shawarma from one of the food stalls before heading towards the funfair rides. We were pleasantly surprised by how affordable the rides were—much cheaper than in the UK! It was lovely to see so many families enjoying the evening together, whether riding the rides, playing games, or just wandering around.

We had another go at the peso throwing game later in the evening, but we’re still not sure if we were cheated out of a prize! Looking back at the footage, it definitely looks like the peso landed in the right spot... what do you think? Did we deserve a prize?
