Hello Friends and welcome back to another art studio vlog.
Today I am painting two landscape paintings with oil paint blended with my cold wax medium. My painting surface is an art board made of birch. I am very new to painting with cold wax and painting on board. the cold wax needs a stiff surface making a regular canvas too flexible to keep the cold wax from cracking over time with movement. The cold wax and oil paint has a thick creamy texture. Painting wet on wet, it is easy for the cold wax and oil paint to blend and get muddy quickly. While that makes it very challenging to paint with cold wax and oil paint, it is heaps of fun.
