GCNC members Bob and Debbie Barsotti recently embarked on a two-week journey on the Amazon River beginning in the city of Manaus, Brazil. On a 250-mile exploration of the mighty river, they witnessed how humans and other life forms adapt and survive in this diverse and mostly untamed geographic region. Their trip coincided with a historic drought which challenged both human and animal inhabitants of the area. Here they present their experiences watching birds and river life, venturing into the jungles, and visiting several river communities along the way.
This presentation was recorded live at the May 8, 2025 meeting of the Gloucester County Nature Club held in Wenonah, New Jersey.
