Lumbar Extension Exercise. Step 1. Go ahead and sit on your Mobility cushion. Step 2. You're going to bring your knees and ankles together in front of you, to make it a little bit easier, so your knees are almost touching together. (Step 3) Go ahead and grab with your hands on your kneecaps. Step number whatever I'm on now (Step 4) is going to be pivoting your hips forward just like you do with that Mobility Exercise for warming up your low back. Next Step, (Step 5). You're going to go ahead and pull your knees back into your hips, creating some resistance. (Step 6) Arc your low back. Squeeze your shoulder blades together. Look all the way up to the sky. Hold this for a 5-second muscle hold and relax. You're going to repeat 5-second muscle hold and relax. You should feel most of the muscle contraction in your low back muscles for this. Sure did. 15 reps, 5-second muscle hold.
