Shanghai Disneyland and a Ride on the World's Fastest Train (Maglev) 4k

Our first trip to Shanghai China included the still very new Shanghai Disneyland. Former CEO and executive chairman of the board Bob Iger regularly describes Shanghai Disneyland as authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese. It is also one of the most unique parks in the Disney portfolio which is on a level close to the Disney Sea theme park in Japan. You won't find classic Disney rides like It's a Small world, Space Mountain, or the Jungle Cruise ride here.

In order to create a Disneyland in SHanghai, Disney had to go through extraordinary steps to build a park in mainland CHina. The cost of building the park was at 5 and a half billion dollars to construct. And even though the costs were evenly split between Disney and the Shanghai Shendi the Chinese state owned company, Disney only owns 43% of the property. Shanghai Shendi Group owns the remaining 57%. Disney also gave up 30% of the management control over Shanghai Disney which means you'll find rules at this park that you won't find anywhere else. In fact, video cameras are strictly prohibited from the property which is why i used my iphone for this video. If one wants to save money on a Disney vacation, Shanghai Disney is likely the cheapest option. Tickets for adults range between $60-$75 for adults at the time of making this video. Even at these prices, "a two-day weekend ticket for two adults and one child comes close to China's average urban monthly wage.
Shanghai Disneyland includes unique iterations of DIsney including Mickey Avenue instead of Mainstreet USA, Gardens of Imagination, Treasure Cove and Adventure Isle includes a rope adventure coarse instead of the Jungle Cruise ride and the Tron Ride Roller Coaster instead of Space Mountain. Some favorite Disney areas are shared with Shanghi Disney including Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. However, they place these areas in a mirror image of the other Disney parks. Tomorrowland is on the left side of the park instead of the right. Adventure Isle is on the right side of the park instead of the left.
Distinct from other Disney parks is the fact that there is no steamed railroad surrounding the perimeter of the park nor does it try to obscure the views of the outside world from inside the park.
