NO HAY NADA MÁS QUE HACER - Nothing else to do

Este es un tema de rock, con acordes no tan convencionales. Compuse la música a mediados de julio de 2004, en mi piso en Badalona. Me gusta porque tiene muchos cortes. La letra la empecé el 28 de julio en el Hotel Mercure, en Bobeaux (Francia), como se ve en uno de los manuscritos al final del video. Tuve que viajar allí por cuestiones laborales. En los días siguientes ajusté la primera estrofa, pero sin avanzar. Recién el 8 y 9 de septiembre completé la letra. No me parece gran cosa, pero encaja bien con la música.

La grabación es “en directo”, realizada el 2 de enero de 2005 en Buenos Aires, en la casa de Cristian Lombardi. Canté y toqué una guitarra española (posiblemente la de Daniel). Ese día estuve con Daniel y Cristian Soria, quien filmó, aunque no cuando grabé este tema.

De mis temas, grabé solo “Abrumado” y “No hay nada más que hacer”, ambos en directo: guitarra y voz al mismo tiempo. El tema “Rock de la mujer perdida” también lo grabamos así, Daniel y yo cantando y tocando juntos. En cambio, los otros temas se grabaron por partes: primero las guitarras, luego las voces.

Ese día grabamos:

– Quizás por qué – Toma 2 (estéreo)
– I Follow the Sun (de The Beatles)
– Respuestas que hoy quisiera (de Miguel y Eugenio)
– Rock de la mujer perdida (de Los Gatos)
– Abrumado (mío)
– No hay nada más que hacer (mío)

El audio original de “Abrumado” lo completé después con bajo, guitarra eléctrica, batería (programada) y voces adicionales, y está publicado en este canal. Este tema (No hay nada más que hacer), en cambio, decidí dejarlo tal cual lo grabó Cristian, en mono. Luego lo convertí a estéreo. Trabajé en la mezcla entre el 17 y el 19 de julio de 2025, logrando esta versión “Mezcla 2025”, apenas retocada.

El video combina imágenes de internet con tomas mías del 2 de enero de 2005, donde se me ve tocando la guitarra y cantando. Cerca del final aparece Cristian Lombardi. Al cierre del video muestro algunos manuscritos originales, con la pista de guitarra sola como fondo, donde se aprecian mejor los acordes.

NO HAY NADA MÁS QUE HACER = NOTHING ELSE TO DO
This is a rock song, but with not-so-conventional chords. I composed the music in mid-July 2004, in my apartment in Badalona. I like it because it has many breaks and rhythmic cuts. I began writing the lyrics on July 28 at the Mercure Hotel in Bobeaux (France), as shown in one of the handwritten drafts included at the end of the video. I had to travel there for work. Over the following days, I worked on the first verse, but couldn’t move forward. Only on September 8 and 9 did I manage to complete the lyrics. They’re nothing special, but they fit well with the music.

The recording is a live take, made on January 2, 2005, in Buenos Aires, at Cristian Lombardi’s house. I sang while playing a Spanish guitar (possibly Daniel’s). That day I was with Daniel and Cristian Soria, who filmed, although for some reason he didn’t film when I recorded this song.

From my own songs, I only recorded “Abrumado” and “No hay nada más que hacer”, both in live takes: guitar and vocals simultaneously. The song “Rock de la mujer perdida” was also recorded live, with Daniel and me singing and playing guitar together. The other songs were recorded separately: first the guitars, then the vocals.

That day we recorded, in this order:

The original audio of “Abrumado” was later completed with bass, electric guitar, programmed drums, and additional vocals, and was published in this channel. This song (No hay nada más que hacer),however, I decided to leave exactly as Cristian recorded it: a mono recording that I converted to stereo. I worked on the mix between July 17 and 19, 2025, creating this “2025 Mix”, with only minimal mastering adjustments.

The video combines internet images with footage of myself on January 2, 2005, where I’m seen playing guitar and singing. Near the end, Cristian Lombardi briefly appears. At the very end of the video, I show some of the original handwritten drafts, with the guitar-only track as background, where the chords and progression can be better appreciated.
