PP Derek Haines and his nephew, Tom Carlin, Staff Sargeant in the British Army, continue their trek despite frigid weather and other challenges. They are trekking the Robert Louis Stevenson Trail (the GR70) to raise money for Meals on Wheels Cayman.
In 2023, Meals on Wheels delivered 79,643 meals to needy senior citizens in the Cayman Islands and also provided supplemental groceries, hurricane survival kits, and wellness checks. They accomplished all of this despite having no headquarters for logistics or meal preparation.
