Volvo XC90 Torque Rod Engine Mount Replacement DIY (2016-Present Volvo XC90 SPA)

►Like the XC90 itself, the upper engine mount in the SPA-based SUVs has been updated during production. This torque rod mount is a common replacement on higher-mileage engines, as the constant work keeping the engine in the right place wears down the mount's rubber bushings. Replacing the mount is a fairly straightforward job, and it allows all the pre-2020 models to be updated to the newer part.

When the upper torque rod mount wears out, the engine rocks and moves more during acceleration and deceleration. This adds vibration throughout the car and increases the wear on the remaining engine and transmission mounts. It can also affect power delivery, so it's best to replace the mount as soon as possible.
