Capucin Funicular

📍Mont-Dore, France

The oldest electric funicular in France is right here in Mont-Dore. Built in 1898 and listed as a Historic Monument, the Funiculaire du Capucin embodies all the charm of the Belle Époque. It climbs up to 1,245 meters above sea level at the Salon du Capucin for easy access to hiking trails, the Sylvatorium, the Mont-Dore Aventure park and the Via Ferrata. This little train, a real cable railway, climbs the valley side at a speed of 1 meter per second.

One way ticket costs 8 euros for adult and 12 euros two-way.
