Making chawanmushi or Japanese egg custard in a microwave is possible, thanks to this handy gadget from Daiso.
I first saw this on a Japanese home organising channel. It seemed to work pretty well.
Having tried the product a few times, I'd say it's convenient as you won't have to prepare a steamer and that microwaving is faster.
The results aren't too bad, not restaurant quality but it is time saving.
