In this video, I walk you through exactly how I would teach one of my clients how to do the bent over row with a barbell. I feel it's necessary for a client to understand basics first (1 arm row) before progressing into the more advance strength movement (bent over row).

When learning strength moves, I've found that it is much easier to get stronger, when you aren't in pain. That's why it's so important you start your bent over row journey with the Dumbbell 1 arm row. From there, it's so crucial that you learn how to bend over with less weight, and understand what your whole body needs to do, with the dumbbell bent over row, before you progress to the barbell.
