Ford Mustang GT4 Testing at Monza Circuit: Accelerations, Downshifts & Sound!

During a recent summer test session organized by Kateyama at Monza Circuit my friend ‪@Italiansupercarvideo‬ and I recorded this Ford Mustang GT4 from Academy Motorsport team. During the first of the two days the car ran equipped with mufflers on the exhaust (all the clips of the first part of the track - from T1 to T7) and without them during the final day of testing (most of the scenes from Ascari corner to Parabolica exit).

The Ford Mustang GT4 is an evolution of the 2015/2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R-C used in IMSA’s Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. Developed by Multimatic Motorsports for Ford Performance in order to race under the GT4-class rules, the Mustang GT4 had its competition debut in 2017 during the Daytona 24 weekend. It's powered by a Roush-Yates Engines custom built dry-sumped 5.2L V8 with cross-plane crankshaft which produces around 580 hp but due to the GT4 BoP (Balance of Performance) the max power decreases to around 450 horses. The gearbox is a Holinger RD-6 sequential transmission with paddle shifters.
