In previous chapters we learned about our sensory system, discussed sensory processing and looked at potential challenges and tools.
In this chapter we will discuss self-regulation - when children are able to articulate and address their emotional and sensory needs. Self-regulation relates to sensory processing and is a critical part of being able to exhibit appropriate behaviors and readiness for learning.

In this video we'll explore dysregulation, co-regulation and self-regulation and demonstrate how to develop self-regulation in our students.
We will present examples of how to guide a child from dysregulation to co-regulation to self-regulation, using modeling and scaffolding. Watch now!
